Powerful stories are emerging in our study of bowel cancer sufferers that will highlight symptoms people often ignore.
University of Otago medical student Zoe Windner who is working on this project for us as part of a summer student grant study, says people in their 20s and 30s were among about 100 bowel cancer cases.
”You see the numbers, you see 3000 people are diagnosed per year, but the work I am doing, I am seeing their stories and what is happening to them and their families, and that’s really powerful.”
The study looks at how long it took for people to be diagnosed, and what prompted them to seek medical attention.
The survey is still open and we are still inviting participants to complete, so please feel feee to click on this link to take part.
