Jason’s Story

The C Word comes in many forms, but manifests itself most shockingly in real life not on film, music or TV. Aged 45 with 2 young kids and running 15km a week I never thought I was a candidate. But bubbles burst and this one blew big time.

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer 4 years ago. What followed was a year long rollercoaster ride of Radio, Chemo, Surgery and a bit more Chemo for good luck. I hate rollercoasters – aways have done. I was utterly exhausted, both physically and mentally. And so was my wife.

I won’t lie – it was tough for both of us…but the thought of not seeing my wife and kids again was tougher.

I focused on LIVING. I made health and fitness one of my everyday life habits and now 4 years later I’ve become a better person with a shorter colon and a much better take on life.
